The argument behind the recent setback to Obama’s executive orders on immigration doesn’t make much sense. It reads (from the Nytimes):
“The court finds that the government’s failure to secure the border has exacerbated illegal immigration into this country,” Judge Hanen wrote. “Further, the record supports the finding that this lack of enforcement, combined with the country’s high rate of illegal immigration, significantly drains the states’ resources.”
Umm…since Obama has deported more than any president in history….and illegal immigration has been on the decline ….so does that mean previous presidents have been even more egregiously in violation of states’ rights on immigration?
