Andrew Cuomo’s Campaign money comes from expected places

Andrew Cuomo’s campaign for governor has received the greatest share of its money from the places you would expect it: the wealthier, urban parts of New York. Over $13.1 million of his $16.5 million in contributions came from within New York State. And within the state, his contributions came from the places you would expect: the four large urban areas, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany and, mostly, New York City and Long Island. He raised over $100,000 in 28 different New York zip codes, with more than 20 of those generous zip codes coming from the New York and Long Island area. The Upper West Side and Upper East Sides donated by far the most, with individuals in several uptown zip codes donating more than $400,000.

The first map below shows which zip codes donated $100,000 or more. The red and purple markers are the zip codes that donated the most.

The second map shows zip codes that donated $10,000 or more. The red and purple markers are the zip codes that donated the most.
